September 18, 2020

COLUMBIA, Mo. Veterans United Home Loans was named one of the nation’s Top Workplaces for Women by Fortune Magazine and Great Place to Work® for the fifth consecutive year. The nation’s largest VA purchase lender ranked No.11 on the list.

The list considered feedback from over 4.9 million employees at Great Place to Work-Certified organizations. The evaluation includes over 60 elements from employees’ trust for leaders to fairness of workplace decisions. Approximately 85 percent of the ranking reports from women on how they feel about their work place and how fair their experiences are in comparison to men’s reports in the same workplaces.

“Providing our employees with a workplace environment in which they can thrive both professionally and personally is a cornerstone of our culture at Veterans United Home Loans,” Dr. Amanda Andrade, Chief People Officer at Veterans United said. “This year with the pandemic, we have experienced a whole set of unexpected challenges to ensure we are keeping our employees safe while providing the best possible customer service to our borrowers. Maintaining our culture of inclusiveness, even from a social distance, has remained at the forefront of our commitment to our employees.”

Andrade was named one of Housing Wire’s Women of Influence in the mortgage industry for 2020. The company's nearly 3,700 employees focus on helping Veterans and their families secure homeownership. Their success is tied directly to living out its employee-created values: Be Passionate and Have Fun, Deliver Results with Integrity and Enhance Lives Every Day.

“This year we have already hired more than 1,000 employees,” Larissa Wollard, Associate Director of People Services at Veterans United said. “We have hundreds of openings we are looking to fill and are projected to continue to hire at this pace for the foreseeable future.” Current openings range from Marketing, Technology, Production and Operations. In St. Louis, the company is looking to hire Operations Coordinators and Loan Specialists.
