| Virtual Universe Offers Free Internet Teleconferencing To New York Companies In Need
TORONTO, Oct. 11 /CNW/ - Virtual Universe Corporation has offered the use of its flagship technology, Virtual Talker(TM), to Manhattan organizations and companies in need. The service is available now, through several organizations that have established disaster relief Websites, including the New York Software Disaster Relief Fund. Virtual Talker(TM) Internet teleconferencing software enables individuals and groups to better work together from remote locations.
"Virtual Talker could be very helpful to people and companies who have lost their office space as a result of the September 11th disaster," said Sam Goldberg, Vice President of Marketing for Virtual Universe. "Virtual Talker(TM) enables anyone with a PC to participate in Virtual meetings hosted on the Internet or within an Intranet. "It's as easy as making a phone call and it's faster and easier than arranging a teleconference call," he explained. "You can arrange a Virtual meeting as fast as you can tell the other participants the meeting time, room and password."
Virtual Universe will review requests on a case-by-case basis. Typically, companies will have the use of a 20-seat server, plus technical support, until December 31, 2001.
