CALGARY, March 6 /CNW/ - Lorn Becker, President and CEO of Virtual Universe Corporation (VUC) said today that the company knows of no material event or change that would cause the rapid increase in the trading price of the company's shares on the Canadian Venture Exchange.
On March 1-3 VUC attended the Telcon East conference which is the premiere forum for distance learning and online training. The company has not concluded any licensing agreements or sales. VUC has seen a number of users downloading the free Virtual Talker software from the VU.COM web site. The software lets the user speak to other Virtual Talker users in voice-enabled chat rooms. Users can even create their own open or private voice-chat forums.
VUC has developed and is actively marketing its Internet-based voice technology known as Virtual Talker. Virtual Talker, a scaleable, client-server technology, enables multiple-person, interactive meetings, presentations and training using high quality voice, text, graphics and shared data, delivered directly to the desktop.
VUC is focused on becoming a leader in Internet voice communications technology that enables many participants to communicate more effectively in online (Internet IP) environments. Markets for Virtual Talker include distance learning, corporate communications and Web-based communications. Currently, much of the communication on the Web is accomplished either via ``Text Chat'' or via one-way (broadcast) voice. By adding Virtual Talker to these Web sites, multiple users, such as a disbursed sales force using the companies internal web site may want to interact in a more natural way, using real-time, two-way voice communications in conjunction with shared programs and visuals over the web.
